A great read!!! This book will not let you go!!!
I have seldom encountered a book with as much excitement. This can be a wonderful addition to any reader's library. Seldom has an author been able to write with such clarity and verve. Once you start reading, you will not put this book down.

Nevada Nights
Published in Paperback by Kensington Pub Corp (Mass Market) (July, 1989)
Author: Georgina Gentry
Average review score:

One exciting trip to Nevada !!
What a story. Cheyenne Warrior & Kentucky Cowboy both love a Texas girl, who's posing as a boy to ride for the pony express. Cheyenne Brave takes Texas girl hostage, which Torments Kentucky Cowboy. Real Historical battles are the backdrop for this war to win her heart. The ending of this book is exciting, but what is possible becomes reality in the next book, Apache Caress, as an underlying plot. Your just so happy to hear more of this story, like they are friends you have not heard from in a long time.

Nevada Tombstone Record Book: Southern Nevada
Published in Hardcover by Bee Hive Press (December, 1986)
Author: Richard Taylor
Average review score:

Wow. they had some crazy headstones way back when
I laughed. I cried. Reading how people died, be it from a tooth ache or a gunshot wound after a barroom brawl, was facinating. It makes me wish people put messages on headstones today! It's a great gift!

Nevada, Magnificent Wilderness: Magnificent Wilderness
Published in Hardcover by Westcliffe Pub (September, 1996)
Authors: Scott T. Smith and Hal K. Rothman

Home Means Nevada!
A wonderful book! I am far from my home in Nevada and swear I can smell the sagebrush, cattle and mountain streams as I turn the pages. This book brings the Silver State alive! I have had many comments from visitors who pick up the book and are amazed. Most are unaware of the beauty in this area generally thought of as a desolate "wasteland". Just like the State song, this book really showed that "Home Means Nevada" to me!

Preserving the Glory Days: Ghost Towns and Mining Camps of Nye County, Nevada
Published in Paperback by Univ of Nevada Pr (November, 1998)
Author: Shawn Guide to the Ghost Towns and Mining Camps of Nye County, Hall
Average review score:

Great information!
This book has wonderful information about Nye County's ghost towns - exactly what I was looking for. Shawn Hall has selected great accompanying photographs, which I found very helpful for a project I am working on. I hope to visit some of the towns mentioned one day (when I find the time!), and this book will definately be of help.

The book is devided into region of the county (South, East, etc), and then arranged in alphabetical order, with directions and an historial account of each town. Well written and researched, with great photos!

Pussyfoot: A Midnight Louis Mystery
Published in Hardcover by Tor Books (January, 1900)
Author: Carole Nelson Douglas
Average review score:

Midnight Louie's foray in the world of striptease.
*Pussyfoot* draws the reader deeper into Midnight Louie's and Temple's slice of Las Vegas. You get to meet Crawford Buchanan, a rival PR man, and sleazy 50s throwback who completely missed the Women's Liberation movement. After suffering a heart attack, Crawford talks Temple into covering a stripper convention, the climax of which is a competition. Unfortunately, strippers start to show up dead, strangled with items from their costumes. Temple also encounters a striptease protestor who joins in the adventure, and learns some of the dancers' stories. As a special added attraction, the reader meets the Divine Yvette, Midnight Louie's petite, silver coated lady love. Temple's natural nosiness puts her face-to-face with the killer. Carole Nelson Douglas always includes some little device to explain the title...where will it be this time?

Quick Escapes Las Vegas: 25 Weekend Getaways from the Neon City
Published in Paperback by Globe Pequot Pr (April, 2002)
Author: Heidi Rinella
Average review score:

Stress Relief!
This book was a nice read. I like to know what to expect when I go on a vacation, especially those weekend trips because they are so short. Lake Tahoe and the red woods were my favorites. I will use the suggestions for future trips, too.

Recollections of a Handcart Pioneer of 1860: A Woman's Life on the Mormon Frontier
Published in Hardcover by Univ of Nebraska Pr (May, 1983)
Author: Mary Ann Hafen
Average review score:

Great book from a personal viewpoint
I must admit that I am a bit biased, since Mary was my wife's great grandmother. A touching book, and does not white wash the trials experienced.
